10.01.12Bucket List: New York in the Fall!

Happy October!!! October 1 is always one of my very favorite days of the whole year. It kicks off a fun month of Fall festivities, followed by all the best holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. I’ve never experienced Fall in New York, but I hear it is fantastic. There is so much to do that I thought I’d make a list of goals to make sure I squeeze it all in!

  1. Buy a pumpkin and carve it.
  2. Roast the pumpkin seeds for a salty snack.
  3. Drink hot apple cider in my favorite “Keep Calm” mug from London.
  4. Run the 6 mile loop in Central Park to see all the beautiful leaves changing colors.
  5. See the Village Halloween Parade on October 31.
  6. Ride bikes throughout Central Park.
  7. Check out the Plaza Food Halls.
  8. See the seals at the Central Park Zoo.
  9. Tour the Brooklyn Brewery.
  10. Watch the Macy’s Parade Balloon Inflation the evening before Thanksgiving.
  11. Experience Bike MS New York City – the only traffic-free bike event in the city (even though I’ll be working it… sorry for the shameless promotion).
  12. Visit Four Freedoms Park, a brand new memorial to FDR opening this October on Roosevelt Island.
  13. Volunteer with Hope for New York.
  14. Get lost in The Amazing Maize Maze at Queens County Farm Museum.
  15. Watch a Carolina football game at the UNC bar, Brother Jimmy’s.
  16. Make crock-pot cinnamon almonds.
  17. Finish the Word Revolution to focus on speaking life with my words.
  18. Go ice skating in Bryant Park.

Who’s with me?!

I love your Fall bucket list! We must be sisters or something, because I make a bucket list for every season, too : )

Mine includes: apple picking, an all-things pumpkin party, going to a winery, Skyline Drive/fall foliage, hiking at Great Falls, hosting a chili & cornbread party, use my crockpot, & going to a pumpkin patch

I had to limit it this year because of all of the traveling/weddings this Fall : )
