DSCN9965Even though Rob and I just moved into a wonderful apartment that we love, sometimes it’s fun to think about dream homes. Recently, after eating our way through Smorgasburg, we decided to take a leisurely stroll through Brooklyn Heights back toward the subway stop to walk off some of those calories. I had to stop every few feet to gape at the beautiful homes along peaceful, tree-lined streets, just steps from Brooklyn Promenade and gorgeous vistas of Manhattan.

Ever since walking the streets of London when I lived there during college, I knew that my dream home was a charming townhouse in a bustling city, but situated in a quiet neighborhood within that city. The Brooklyn brownstones reminded me so much of those South Kensington/Notting Hill town houses that I pined for!

I love the grand staircases leading up to the massive front door, the adorable house numbers painted on the doors, the window boxes filled with plants, the bay windows, the details in the stone work, the wrought iron touches, the large windows, and the historic charm. I love how these gorgeous homes are just steps from the bustling streets of restaurants, shops, bars, pharmacies, and boutiques… but also steps away from the stunning riverfront.

What’s your dream home?

Though not technically a brownstone, this one is my favorite!
