What we’re eating this week:
On Monday we made bow-tie pasta with an olive oil/lemon sauce mixed with seasonings, bacon crumbles, and diced avocado. On Tuesday we had tortilla pizza. Tonight is chicken Tikka Masala. Thursday night will be something we can easily take to a picnic in the park with our Community Group. And Friday we’re grabbing Cava (favorite fast casual) on our way to a movie in the park!
What I’m reminiscing about:
I’m already missing a long weekend with some of our dearest friends. The Payne family moved from NYC to Nashville last summer, and we’ve been trading visits. We packed four adults and their two precious kids into our little apartment — and it was the most fun slumber party ever :).
What I’m loving:
I got a free sample of the Origins charcoal face mask from work. I’ve only tried it once, but so far it’s pretty great! It left my skin feeling so fresh and clear.
What we’ve been up to:
We hosted lots of visitors in the month of May! It’s so fun sharing our home, neighborhood, and city with the people we love.
What I’m dreading:
It’s only in the 60s today, but I’m dreading the 90-degree days that are going to sneak up on us quickly.
What I’m working on:
I’m in the midst of planning a special getaway for Rob and me to celebrate his 30th birthday later this year! Do you have any Portland or Bar Harbor, Maine, recommendations?
What I’m excited about:
I’m excited about our roof deck opening for the season. Nothing better than taking a cocktail up to the roof to kick off the weekend!
What I’m watching/reading:
I’m in the middle of a few books right now: The Last Days of Night, Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, and The Screwtape Letters. Also watching the new season of the Bachelorette, of course!
What I’m listening to:
I’m loving the New York Times’ podcast, The Daily.
What I’m wearing:
White jeans and navy tops, my favorite color combo :).
What I’m doing this weekend:
We will be watching Moana in a park in Brooklyn on Friday night, heading to our friends’ apartment in Battery Park City for brunch on Saturday, and then I’m taking Rob on a surprise date that afternoon. On Sunday we’re volunteering in the kids’ ministry at our church and then relaxing with books and FaceTime calls in the afternoon!
What I’m looking forward to next month:
While May was full of hosting, June brings our first travels of summer. I’m super excited to attend a friend’s wedding in DC, which we’re turning into a little anniversary getaway for ourselves. Then we’re also headed to White Lake, NC for a weekend in the sun and in the water with Rob’s family.
What else is new:
I’m on a bit of a summer break from school right now before my summer term starts up on July 3. Having my weeknights back is heavenly!
Bonus question this month: – Favorite vacation spot:
Such a tough question! For a relaxing vacation, it’d have to be our honeymoon destination. We stayed at Hermitage Bay in Antigua and it was a week of pure bliss. For a sight-seeing vacation, I’d visit London in a heart beat. It’s my favorite city in the world; I just can’t get enough.
What’s up with you?!
